theirs nothing wrong with denting cans.
The reason everyone is freaked out is because of Botulism. Be leery of any swollen cans, or if the dent in on the seam or at all sharp. Otherwise you’re okay. Do a search on Botulism to find out more.
my mom never bought dented cans. i don’t think it’s a good idea. i don’t buy them. never know if something is dented is spoiled.
I know that storing the can in the fridge cause the metal to some how to get into the food and spoil it but to use them during camping I’m not sure. I would probably do it. Good luck finding the truth.
IT’S OKAY TO USE A SLIGHTLY DENTED CAN AS LONG AS THERE IS NO BROKEN SEAL WHICH USUALLY SHOWS UP AS A POOFED OUT CAN IN THE TOP OR BOTTOM END SEALS—THE ROUNDED TOP MEANS THAT BOTCHOLISM PRODUCING BACTERIA ARE GROW PROFUSLY –THE ROUNDING OUT IS DUE TO THE EXCESS GAS PRODUCED BY THE BACTERIA——THROW AWAY —THIS IS A DEADLY CAN IF CONSUMED COULD KILL THOUSANDS……..DO NOT COOK IN A CAN BECAUSE YOU WILL BREAK DOWN THE CHEMICAL COATING WHICH CAN CONTAMINATE THE FOOD…….
Dented cans are not safe, they could have bacteria grow in them, I would throw them out and not use them for anything
