I have used this on many scout camping trips and it is perfect for that use. I have a s.s. cup from a previous, not so hardy kit that fits inside and it is roomy enough for two (short handled) silverware sets (also from previous, now trashed kits). It is very sturdy and had held up to five years of use. This product is not ideal for backpacking due to its weight.

These are the nicest pans I have found. Their quality is excellent and they stow away very well. Highly recommend.

Who knows what goes through the minds of engineers and designers? But it sure seems like MSR went downhill fast after being acquired by REI, and for the last nearly 10 years, Cascade Designs. BEWARE: This line of otherwise quality, albeit slightly heavy, camping cookware does NOT nest. Repeat: These will NOT nest. You can however, fit the 475ml into the 1.1L. But the 475ml will NOT fit into the 775ml, nor will the 775ml fit into the 1.1L. I’m taking one star off for bad industrial design regarding product line integration. I’m taking another star off for no info from the manufacturer regarding the ability to compactly store this cook gear – (it’s for hiking, backpacking, or camping – DUH!). And I’m taking another star off because I cannot return the orphan 775ml without getting jabbed for S/H. BTW, these products are prominently marked “Made in Thailand,” so kudos to another American corporate entity off-shoring manufacturing, and welcome to the global economy.

The item is light and stands up well to being banged around. The lack of a handle is a bit of a bummer, but the pots cool off quick.
This item doesn’t get 5 stars from me because, for the same price, I could get an entire steel cooking set of similar quality from an Army surplus store.

I purchased this MSR stowaway pot as a Christmas gift and the recipient said it was perfect.
Yes ,once its cooked, cool it quickly before you freeze it
Sure! I do it all the time. I usually use a ziplock bag and remove all the air when freezing. Might not work too well with the meatballs, tho. Have fun camping!
It should freeze and keep nicely. Have a good trip!
I do this often but I keep the pasta in a separate bag. It is easier to heat and it doesn’t become mushy. I use ziplock storage bags.
Yes I freeze my spagetti and meatballs all the time.
yes just make sure that u put it in a container that is freezer proof and add a sheet of parchement paper inside the container to prevent freezer burn or water from getting in there
yes but the pasta will be mushy when you re-heat.
