Great Coffee,
About a year ago, I purchased the 14 cup model of this coffee pot. I used it a few times, one of which was with my church’s men’s group on a camping trip. I made quite a few pots of coffee on that trip, and the only issue I had with the coffee pot was that it wasn’t big enough. Well, to make a long story a little shorter, I later purchased the 28 cup model, and then used it on another church group camping trip. I found that it made enough coffee for all those in my area that wanted some. Both of these models are of excellent quality with excellent fit and finish. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a great coffee pot for camping. The only thing they’re not really good for is cooking on an electric stove. Some electric stove elements are too big to fit within the recess on the bottom of the coffee pot. The other issue is that it won’t work well on an induction cooktop, because there isn’t enough surface area contact due to a recess on the bottom of the coffee pot.

|Nice alternative to “cowboy coffee” for group camping,
This is a well-made product that’s sturdy and nicely finished. The clear percolator view cap is polycarbonate plastic to the best of my knowledge, but considering the tiny contact area that the cap has with the coffee I think it’s beyond irrational to be concerned about any BPA it might contain. We used the pot on a river trip with a group of 10 (all coffee drinkers). The big pot made a good dose of morning coffee for the group, and the coffee tastes much better than the “cowboy coffee” we used to make in an enameled pot about the same size, but without a percolator basket.
The handle stays cool, and the lid stays in place while pouring (a good reason to pack the pot with some care and not mess up the operation with dents and dings).
