All this fits into a stuff sack that doubles as a sink or wash basin and only weighs 4lbs.Enjoy a gourmet feast while camping in the great outdoors with the Bugaboo Camper outdoor cookware set. The Bugaboo Camper set–which stacks conveniently and stores in a welded stuff sack–is reconfigurable for everything from two-person backpacking to four-person car camping.
The tableware stacks up and nests inside the pots for easy carrying. |
The set starts with three pieces of traditional cookware: a 3-liter pot, a 2-liter pot, and a 9-inch frypan, all made using Bugaboo technology. Made of high-quality aluminum, Bugaboo pots and pans are light enough for backpacking, yet heat evenly enough to satisfy the most demanding camp cook. Plus, each piece is fully formed and then coated with two layers of durable nonstick coating for added scratch-resistance. The pots also include two lids with built-in strainers and a folding gripper that locks on to the pots to provide a secure handle while cooking.
The color-coded tableware steps up when it’s time to eat, with four 14-ounce insulated mugs, four 14-ounce bowls, and four 7.5-inch plates. The tableware is made of GSI Outdoors’ lightweight, flexible Cascadian material, a chemically inert, BPA-free polypropylene design that remains resilient when exposed to both hot and cold temperatures. Moreover, Cascadian pieces won’t absorb food odors like other plastics and are completely recyclable at the end of their service life. To keep you from spilling when drinking or sipping from the bowls, the set includes four Sip-It lids as well.
The Bugaboo Camper’s best trait, however, may be its stackable design. The pieces nest together gently and fit inside a rugged stuff sack. Not only does the sack make storage and transport easy, but it also doubles as a sink or washbasin in camp, so you can quickly clean your dishes without hassle.

Siblings Don, Ian, and Kathy Scott eventually relocated to Spokane, Washington, where they continue to define innovation through the creation of unique, imaginative, and fun products that reassert their enthusiasm for the outdoors. Good system but…be careful,
I took this cooking kit out camping where we had to pack everything in and keep it as light as possible. For that purpose it was perfect. We and used it day and night. Our heat source was a single propane burner meant for backpacking. Loved the covers for straining water and it working great until one evening while cooking, we notice the cover was melting on one side. The heat was off center and was reaching around the pot. This caused the cover to melt. Another day, the same thing happened with the smaller cover. So now I have two great pots with melted lids. I think GSI needs to rethink the cover compound to make it more heat resistant. More important was a safety issue we discovered. While we were boiling water one night, we lifted the pot off the stove with the collapsible handle, and it folded when we had it just about an inch off the fire. It could have led to serious scalding so we were really baffled at how they could make this folding feature but not have a more reliable locking feature. It’s a great kit but please be careful.
Update: GSI is adjusting the compound and sending me new lids though not with the new compound but at least I know how to keep them from melting. They said that a heat shield will direct more heat up and that’s probably what happened since we use one when we cooked. They are also sending me a new handle as mine was possibly defective.

|Good Value,
I bought this kit for 2 reasons. First, for occasional family camping use. Second, as an emergency cook / dinner ware set for emergency conditions. The set is very compact when you put it away. It is not something I would take hiking / backpacking because of the weight. However, it is great for family camping and shorter treks to your camping area. The 4 colors let plates / cups / bowls be easily separated for individuals (important when you have kids who squabble over such things). As for emergencies, it is a compact, easily grabbed set that is mobile when needed. That is exactly what you need during emergencies such as floods, earthquakes, etc. This would have rated 5 stars had the pans been of a slightly higher quality. They are useable for sure, but higher quality would have made this an outstanding buy.

|Great camping set,
This contained everything we needed for cooking on a recent camping trip. This product is very compact, but totally works for our family of four. Easy to clean, easy to assemble. I highly recommend.
