My son and I are in Scouts and have used this on several occasions. The components are light weight and fairly durable. They take fairly rough use and have some small dents and dings, which are not unusual for the lightweight cookware. The non-stick teflon coating seems durable and has not worn off. We pack a-lot of food inside the nesting cups and also fit our micro camp stove inside. The clear lid is durable and has perforations on one side that are useful for straining. The handle is well made and secures well to the pot and pan. Two of the mugs are insulated and have removable sip-lids that help keep the coffee, hot chocolate and soup warm and prevent you from burning your hands. The other two mugs/containers are not insulated. The set comes in a waterproof bag/pouch that we use for a sink when cleaning the dishes. The only reason we don’t give it 5 stars is because we would like to see it a little stronger so it didn’t ding as easy. The set is plenty big enough to cook for two hungry guys.

We just received ours in the mail. so far so good. all very compact and light. LOVE the colapsable handle, it gets down small enough to fit inside the cup inside! One complaint is that the instructions say to use the pot and strainer only on a stove top. Not over open flame of a camp fire, this is concerning since we won’t be bringing a stove, but we are going to try it anyway, over low flame, or just coals. Another great feature is the bag the holds it all together and doubles as a basin, although it is small, it seems just right and includes a bit of velcro to keep the pots inside . all in all nice design, looking forward to using it!

Took this bad boy out on 7 day camping/hiking/canoing trip and it performed great. We cooked on campstoves and open fire. We used it for everything from boiling water to making dirty rice to cooking pancakes. The insulated cups are good for morning coffee or hot choc and the bowls hold a healthy serving. The lids are very impresive. My dad used his lid over open fire several times and it held strong with no signs of weakening. Overall good mess kit.

THE SKINNY: This mess kit rocks. It works perfectly with the Coleman Exponent Multi-Fuel Stove. The bottom texture of the pots and pans grip well, which was good because I was cooking on a fairly uneven rock (closest thing to level ground I could find around me). The non-stick worked perfectly, given I had little water or patience. They are about as light weight as it gets for two before you’re spending twice as much to shave off a couple ounces. In other words, best buy for best value. I especially like the fact that this nestles into one another and yet still leaves room for eating utensils, pot scrubber and my Jetboil Jetset Utensil Set.

    PROS:

    Lightweight

    Truly Non-Stick Surface

    Durable

    Compact

    CONS:

    None

BOTTOM LINE: I recommend to hikers or campers who use a stove.

I purchased this set to go on a trip with 4 of my friends. It was a exploratory trip to test the capabilities of this and some other gear we had purchased. We brought a standard sized can of Chili each, 2 cans of Pillsbury Cruisant, and a can of Cinnamon Rolls between us. The pot was able to just barely hold 4 cans of chili with some sausage and cheese thrown in. It cooked well atop the White Gas stove. What was really impressive though was taking the Pot and putting a inch of water in it, bringing it to a boil and putting the frying pan on top with 8 small Cinnamin Rolls in it and the Steam Lid on top, It cooked them inside rather well then by putting the frying pan onto the flame i seared the tops and bottoms to a nice golden brown. Overall it was one of the best “roughing it” meals i have had. The included Cups were a nice addition but nothing amazing, I went to the local REI and purchased an extra handle for the set so i didnt have to alternate between handles for the Pot/Pan, My lid did get melted when someoen else was using the set with the Frying pan directly on the flame and the lid on top to cook some eggs but that was user error. The Carrying case is waterproof so we used it to wash up and there was plenty of room inside the cups when it was packed up to hold Honey/Sugar/Tea/Hot Chocolate/Salt/Dish Soap and a Sponge. Overall a excellent product and what i consider my best valued piece of equipment.
